The Crew
No apology is made for the ugly nature of this page, that's what you get for having a bunch of animals as crew! As and when, photographs will be added to make you realise you don't have to be good looking to sail and race a boat.
Current Crew........
Skipper
He says he has been sailing for years. Well, he looks old enough!! Allegedly lots of experience on sailboats, all sorts of "tickets" to prove he knows what he's doing and even admits to owning a powerboat once. The Skipper (Paul) has a simple philosophy, enjoy sailing and lead from the front. When it goes toes up he hasbeen know to go up to the bow and get wet and he is always first in the bar for a drink (don't, whatever you do challenge the Skipper to a drinking competition!).
The Skippers claim to fame is he spent six months designing the Electron cocktail and killed the greater part of his liver in the process. "It had to taste nice and be purple. hic!"Vickie
Looking demure and diminutive, Vickie is the classic Venus fly trap. Don't be fooled, underneath that pretty and petite exterior is a double hard offshore sailor whocan drink with the best of them and has a wit as sharp as a knife! Be warned!
Retired Crew........
Matt
Excellent helm and start tactician. Matt is a total animal, likes snake bite and black and young girls. Beer goggles are Matt's biggest weakness and he has been known to ignore all of the crew's advice. Matt's often spoken motto is "go ugly early to avoid disappointment" (usually said after one too many beers). He races a RS 200 (well, so we're told) and always pukes on an offshore. Whenever he does an offshore he remembers why he does not like them and it takes a while to get him back on the boat.
Tug
A good all rounder, Tug has a penchant for big boats (like square riggers). We think it's something to do with cabin boys! Tug earned his nickname the first time he was on the boat - a cold dark night in Cherbourg when funny rustling noises emanated from his sleeping bag. Tug can do most jobs, is enthusiastic and helpful - he also burps a lot (not as good as Dottie) and farts as if his life depends upon it. Tug has managed to get a "who made that horrible smell" shout from another boat downwind!!!Andy F
Andy has sailed with the Skipper on and off for years. Andy is well experienced in offshore sailing with an impressive list of races under his belt on all sorts of boats. There's not one job on the boat he cannot do well, including taking the piss out of everyone. Andy's biggest problem is one of "earning a living" which means, like the rest of us he has to work and it gets in the way of sailing!
